ALLIED VAN LINES SCHOLARSHIP

 Allied Van Lines is a large moving company and is looking to provide a scholarship to four students who major in logistics or a similar field. Each scholarship is $1,000 and is available to current students and to those who are enrolling in college.

MANITOBA BEEF PRODUCERS SCHOLARSHIP

Manitoba Beef Producers is pleased to make available six $500 scholarships annually for MBP members or their children attending a university, college, other post-secondary institution or pursuing trades training. Preference will be given to those students pursuing a field of study related to agriculture or to those acquiring a skilled trade or pursuing a career that would be beneficial to the rural economy.

Completed applications and supporting documents must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. Friday, November 5, 2021. A selection committee will review the submissions. Winners will be notified by December 14, 2021.

The scholarship criteria is as follows:

Eligibility:

· Must be at least 17 years of age as of January 1, 2021.

· Must be an active Manitoba beef producer or the child of an active Manitoba beef producer. Note: This can include beef producers returning to school after a period of time in the workforce.

· Post-secondary program or trades training must be a minimum of one year in duration.

Items You Are Required to Submit:

· Completed application form found here

· A typed 600-word (maximum) essay discussing “What the beef industry means to my family, my community and Manitoba.” Also include the reasons you enjoy being involved in agriculture.*;

· A copy of your transcript (either high school, or a recognized college, university or trade school);

· Proof of enrolment in a recognized institution (current transcript, or your acceptance letter, or a letter of intent indicating your intended institution and field of study).

· A list of community involvement (e.g. 4-H, community clubs, volunteer work, etc.); and,

· The names of two references, including their addresses and telephone numbers.

North American Van Lines 2021 Logistics Scholarship Competition

At North American Van Lines, we strive to be fully and consistently committed toward cultivating the future of young professionals across Canada and beyond—this is why we place the importance of quality education above arguably all other metrics when it comes to our priorities as an organization.

We don’t simply feel that education is important—we factor it into our central philosophy, in everything from our business practices to our way of life. Because of this, we’re excited to begin offering the opportunity for qualifying Canadian students to receive our new scholarship, intended for students in the area of business, logistics, and similar fields, with four lucky winners being selected to receive an award amount of $1,000 each. Read ahead to find out how you can enter!

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Canadian Citizen (or permanent resident).
  • Enrolled (or enrolling) as full time student of accredited college/university within a Canadian province, for completion of undergraduate degree in Logistics or equivalent field.
  • Limit of one (1) entry per contestant.
  • Employees and professional affiliates of North American Van Lines (and their immediate families) are not eligible.
  • The applicant must comply with CRA rules to qualify for the tax-free benefits of the scholarship, please see the rules here.
  • Your scholarship may be tax deductible.  However, you are responsible for any tax reporting requirements and any tax due.  We cannot give any tax advice

Application Requirements:

  • Complete all required sections of our application form below.
  • Be sure to attach the following documents to your application form:

Copy of your most recent transcripts.

Some verification of enrollment at your college.

Your Essay.

Entry Requirements:

  • Submit a brief essay of between roughly 400 and 800 words, detailing why logistics/supply chain management is important within your college major of choice. A personalized tone, referencing your firsthand experience and sentiment, is best—no need to be too formal. We’d like to know why you truly believe in logistics as the best career path for you.
  • Deadline is December 21, 2021.

Award:

  • Total award - $2,000; Number of awards given – 2.
  • Maximum award - $1,000 per winner.
  • Award amount will be made out to your school in the form of a check, and mailed to your personal address.

Winners:

  • Winners will be notified via email.
